In Pennsylvania, we believe we can increase a student’s chances of
successfully transferring and completing a degree by having two-year
and four-year institutions work together to ensure that credits
transfer, regardless of where a student may eventually graduate.
That’s why in 2006 we passed
Act
114, a measure designed to increase a
student’s ability to transfer from one postsecondary institution to
another without the costly and time-consuming need to re-take courses.
Developed by a collaboration of partners, including the
Pennsylvania
Department of Education (PDE), the
Pennsylvania
State System of Higher Education and representatives from
Pennsylvania’s community colleges and state-owned universities, PA TRAC
provides students, advisors and administrators with easy access to
information they need pertaining to college transfer.
Students planning to transfer to any of the participating institutions
can immediately from PA TRAC by taking courses that fit into the
Minimum
Transfer Credit Framework.
| Students who
successfully complete
courses from the Transfer Credit Framework can transfer those credits to any
of the participating colleges and universities and have them count
towards graduation.
|
These approved courses are guaranteed to
transfer into any major at any of the
participating institutions
and
count toward the required number of credits a student needs to complete
for graduation.
