Community College of Philadelphia is an open-admission, associate degree-granting institution that offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in the arts, business, health care, science and technology, humanities and social and human services. Many of our degree students transfer to four-year institutions while others seek employment in the Philadelphia region. Classes are held at the Main Campus, our three Regional Centers and at neighborhood sites throughout the City.

Information for Transfer In Students
Accepts Transfers: Students transferring from another college must follow the procedure for admission. Placement testing may be waived on the basis of coursework taken at a prior college or based on standardized tests such as SAT, ACT and TOEFL.

Transfer Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation has established several student scholarship programs. The College participates in the following federal and state-funded programs: Pell, FSEOG, Work-Study, PHEAA, Stafford Loan, and PLUS.

Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA: Not Required. However, courses will transfer with grade of C- or better. Transfer grades are not calculated in cumulative grade point average.
Official Transcripts: If you have prior college experience, provide a written request to have course work evaluated for transfer and have official transcripts sent directly from the original institution to CCP.
SAT Scores: SAT min: 510 verbal and 470 math; ACT min: 17 verbal and 14 math; TOEFL min: 213 on computerized test & 5 on writing test, or min of 560 on paper/pencil test & 5 on writing test, or min of 77 on Internet-based test & 20 on Internet writing test.
Letters of Recommendation: Not required.
Essay: Not required.
Application Fee: One time only, non-refundable fee of $20.
Interview: Not required.
Other Requirements: Applicants may request a preliminary estimate of applicable transfer credits appropriate to the individual’s area of interest. This preliminary evaluation is non-binding. Final evaluation will be based on review of the official transcript.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade: Courses accepted in transfer from regionally-accredited institutions must have a grade of C- or better.
Credits (Min/Max): CCP will grant degrees only to students who have earned at least 30 of the credit hours in residence and will grant certificates only to students who have earned at least one half of the credit hours in residence.
