Accepts Transfers: Transfer students are warmly welcomed at Clarion. We accept all college-level courses (this excludes remedial and developmental courses) from regionally accredited institutions where a student has earned a grade of “C” or better.

Transfer Scholarships and Financial Aid

Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA: General transfer acceptance requires a student to complete six or more college credits, be in good academic standing from the most recent college attended with a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.0. Certain programs have higher gpa requirements. Please see http://www.clarion.edu/324/ for more detailed information.
Official Transcripts: Official transcripts are required for every school the student has attended (including high school). Transcripts must appear on official paper in a sealed envelope or via a secure electronic delivery method from the originating institution.
SAT Scores: Transfer students who have completed six or more college credits will be exempt from providing SAT or ACT scores.
Letters of Recommendation: Recommendation letters are not required for general admission. The admissions staff does suggest that students include recommendation letters whenever possible, however. One to three letters of recommendation are common for the applicants.
Essay: Application essays are not required, although encouraged, for the majority of majors at Clarion. Only students applying to the Associate of Science in Nursing Program must submit an essay on “Why they want to be a nurse.”
Application Fee: There is a one-time $30 application fee for all students.
Interview: On campus interviews are not required, but are encouraged so the student can ensure a good fit with Clarion. To arrange a one-on-one meeting with an Admissions counselor call at 1-800-672-7171 x 1 to schedule an appointment.
Other Requirements: Music majors must audition. Associate of Science in Nursing candidates must take NLN exam.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade: Clarion accepts credits (excluding developmental and remedial courses) from regionally accredited institutions where a grade of “C” or better has been earned. Clarion follows the academic passport policy for the PA community colleges.
Credits (Min/Max): A minimum of 6 credits is required to be considered a transfer student. There is no maximum limit, however, students must meet the residency requirement, 30 of the last 45 credits and 50% of major credits earned through Clarion.
