Situated on 200 acres in southcentral Pennsylvania, Shippensburg University offers you the best of what college is meant to be. With 402 total faculty and 6,900+ undergraduate students, we're small enough to offer you challenging courses, the flexibility you need, and individual attention. We're also large enough to offer a wide spectrum of organizations and activities. Shippensburg offers three colleges and a division for students who have not yet chosen a major. The three colleges - Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education and Human Services - offer 75 majors and concentrations drawing from courses in 30 academic departments.

Information for Transfer In Students
Accepts Transfers: Yes. Transfer students with less than 30 college level credits will have to submit high school transcripts.
Transfer Applications Received: For the Fall '09 semester - 1094 applications
Transfer Applications Accepted: For the Fall '09 semester - 752 offers
Percentage Accepted: 68% (Including incomplete applications)
Transfer Applicants Enrolled: For the Fall '09 semester - 458 registered transfer students


Transfer Scholarships and Financial Aid
Financial aid is given primarily through the FAFSA. Scholarships can be earned after a student is enrolled.

Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA: The minimum required cumulative GPA is a 2.2; there are 16 programs with extra admission criteria. Scroll down to find the link for transfer requirements.
Official Transcripts: Students must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Transfers with less than 30 earned credits must submit high school transcripts as well.
SAT Scores: SAT scores are required for transfer students with 30 credits or less. Students who have been out of High School for more than two years are not required to submit SAT scores.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade: Grades of C or better will transfer. In some cases D grades may transfer.
Credits (Min/Max): Shippensburg University does not set a maximum number of transferable credits. Transfer credits will be applied as appropriate. Students must complete at least 45 credits at Shippensburg to earn a Shippensburg University diploma.
