HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, was established February 14, 1964 as Harrisburg Area Community College. Since that time, HACC has been dedicated to the community and to the individual. The college's devotion to the community arises from its mission to foster educational, cultural, workforce development and economic growth of HACC's regional service area by giving each individual student the tools and environment to succeed. HACC offers nearly 200 career and transfer associate degrees, certificate and diploma programs to more than 24,000 students at five regional campuses in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York and online through its Virtual Campus.

Special Programs:
Academic advisors help students select the courses necessary for the HACC associate's degree and prepare the student for transfer to a bachelor's degree granting institution. Students should work closely with their advisor/counselor and Transfer Services.
Transfer Scholarships and Financial Aid
HACC participates in the following federal and state-funded programs: Pell, FSEOG, ACG, PHEAA, Federal Work-Study, and Stafford Loan. Scholarships are offered through the institution or non-institutional organizations.

Students transferring from another college must submit an OFFICIAL transcript from all previously attended colleges/universities. The college accepts transfer credits from other similarly accredited institutions.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade:
Generally credit is awarded only for coursework in which the student has received credit with a letter grade of A, B, or C, except for Physical Education credit, which will transfer if a grade of P or S was received.
Credits (Min/Max):
A maximum of 45 credits may be transferred. No more than 30 credits by examination may be applied toward the 45 credits transferred.
